Christmas is almost here and I’m getting ready to pack to go home to Connecticut for the holiday (yay!). I was thinking about what I want to wear for the holiday and it got me thinking about holiday style pieces. There are so many out there! I didn’t buy anything new, but looking at choices for this post has me SUPER tempted! Take a look at some of my favorite choices for three themed holiday looks - dinner, a party, or just bopping around on . . .
If you’re hosting a Christmas party, having people over for the holiday, or having any kind of gathering throughout the season, odds are that you’ll be setting a table for a fun and delicious dinner. Pinterest provides so many swoon-worthy tablescapes in general, but particularly for the holiday! I wish I had a dining room table so that I could set up a fun holiday table, but…#ApartmentLiving... I only have a small, round kitchen table. . . .
I’m kind of a snob when it comes to gift wrap. I will spend an (almost) unreasonable amount of money on nice quality gift wrap to make my presents look pretty. When it comes to Christmas time, I always look out for unique and pretty gift wrap that I can use for the holiday season. A couple years ago, my BFF and I went to a gift wrapping class at Paper Source, and it was so much fun! And I actually learned a lot about how to neatly and perfectly . . .
The Christmas season is already flying by, and holiday parties seem to be happening every weekend! It is so fun to host and attend these get togethers with family friends. The holiday season is such a special time of year and it is definitely the time to make special memories and carry on traditions. If you’re gearing up to host a holiday party or gathering, there are certain items you should add to your to-do list and shopping list, too! Take . . .
So I’ve been blogging about cleaning your space to prep for holiday guests, before traveling, or even just to get your place in tip-top shape. I live in an apartment, and it can be tougher than you’d think to keep a small space clean! It seems like one minute it looks tidy and the next, it looks like a bomb went off. Sigh. The never-ending cycle of cleaning :) A clean bathroom is one of the most important parts of a home, if you ask me. I get . . .
So this weekend, I decided to do some Christmas recipe testing! I am all about cookies and there are SO many recipes out there I’ve been wanting to try (how did we ever live without the world of Pinterest? #SeriousQuestion). There are only some many opportunities to bake Christmas goodies, so I want to take full advantage this year! I decided to try making a cake mix cookie, just classic chocolate chip, with some Christmas sprinkles to add a . . .
Christmas is coming so quickly, so it’s definitely the time to stock up on gifts if you haven’t done so already. One person that you can’t forget to shop for is your grandma! I know they can be really tough to buy for - sometimes it seems like they have everything they need and don’t want anything at all! But, you still want to get something for them to make the holidays extra special. Here are some cute and fun Grandma gift ideas that they are . . .
I blogged a few days ago with a preppy gift guide for girls, so today I wanted to share a preppy guide for guys. It’s only fair :) I broke it down into the same categories as I did with the girls items. There are so many great products out there - it was hard to narrow it down to my favorites, but here they are! CLOTHES There are SO many preppy guys clothes out there that are beautifully made and so stylish. Is there anything better than a . . .
I think I’ve made it pretty clear that there are SO many thing I love about the holiday season, but undoubtedly one of them is the scents of Christmas time. Last year, for our first Christmas in Chicago, on my walk to our grocery store, there was a hotel. The decorations they put out on the sidewalk smelled just like the boxes of ornaments that my mom takes out every year to decorate our tree - a true scent of Christmas! I loved smelling it and . . .
Before we decorated for Christmas right after Thanksgiving, we decided to clean our apartment thoroughly. It hadn’t had a deep clean in a while, and sometimes it can start to feel that tidying up equates to just putting things wherever they fit - shoving stuff in the closet, throwing things in the guest room, and so on. And in the end, that isn’t actually cleaning. So, before taking out all of our seasonal stuff, it was time for a real . . .
