The Christmas season is already flying by, and holiday parties seem to be happening every weekend! It is so fun to host and attend these get togethers with family friends. The holiday season is such a special time of year and it is definitely the time to make special memories and carry on traditions. If you’re gearing up to host a holiday party or gathering, there are certain items you should add to your to-do list and shopping list, too! Take . . .
So this weekend, I decided to do some Christmas recipe testing! I am all about cookies and there are SO many recipes out there I’ve been wanting to try (how did we ever live without the world of Pinterest? #SeriousQuestion). There are only some many opportunities to bake Christmas goodies, so I want to take full advantage this year! I decided to try making a cake mix cookie, just classic chocolate chip, with some Christmas sprinkles to add a . . .
So I definitely love all of the different tastes and treats of the Christmas season. I feel like there are so many things to enjoy that only come around once a year, after all! One of the things I love most about the holiday season is how everything becomes peppermint flavored. I am obsessed with peppermint mochas from Starbucks (probably a little too obsessed...I don’t want to know how many calories are in each of them!) and find peppermint to . . .
I haven’t really participated in any white elephant gift exchanges in the past few years besides a “goofy” one where everyone gave gag gifts. I wasn’t too into that one, to be honest...I like gift exchanges where people give nice and useful gifts rather than something ironic. Last year someone I worked with told me about one she was in with her friends and it was such a good idea it got me thinking about what themed white elephants would be fun . . .
Over the holidays, it can always be really tricky to figure out what gifts to give colleagues around the office. I usually don’t want to give nothing but sometimes struggle to think of a good gift idea that is something small but still thoughtful and useful. And while it can be tricky to think of an original idea, it’s not impossible! I have a few ideas that I am considering giving out at work this year so I wanted to share, as I’ve definitely . . .
I did not really do any black Friday shopping, but there are so many great deals out there this weekend! It’s crazy. I feel like this year it started earlier than usual, too. The whole week leading up to Thanksgiving I was receiving emails about pre-Black Friday sales. A deal’s a deal, though! And, it’s always nice to save some money when you’re buying Christmas gifts. The problem for me, though, is that I always see things I want to buy myself . . .
I grew up with dogs and they were always such a big part of my life. I can’t imagine my life without them. Living in Chicago, I don’t have a dog right now but I would love one. While I think I will wait to get one, I still am obsessed with my family dogs and love spending time with them whenever I am home. Many of my friends are also dog-lovers, which is what gave me the idea for this post. For all of the canine-crazed on your shopping list this . . .
I love to bake, and the holidays are always filled with a lot of it for me. Especially in a world where Pinterest exists, there is a seemingly never-ending list of recipes to to try. Chocolate, gingerbread, and peppermint...oh my! There is nothing like finding a new favorite recipe or a familiar old one that you and your family have enjoyed year after year. My childhood Christmases were filled with very specific desserts made by my mom that you . . .
My boyfriend and I have been on a strict diet the past month, and with that we have cooked a lot of meals. I’m so happy that we’ve been on a healthier lifestyle and cook much more often than we were. Some nights, though, it can be challenging to come home from work and think of cooking a whole big meal. But, cooking healthy does not have to be complicated! That being said, I’ve cooked a lot of chicken over the past month. I am pretty picky when . . .
My boyfriend and I are on a month long diet with a lot of restrictions to it. The first week, we brought salad for lunch...every. Single. Day. It got very...monotonous. We decided we needed to get more creative so that we could enjoy the diet a little bit more. We actually came up with a bunch of great options! I wanted to share my favorites here: -Avocado egg salad - I was surprised at how delicious this was! It’s so much healthier than regular . . .
