It can be really tough to come up with original Christmas gift ideas, especially when you have such a wide range of people to buy for. Friends. Family members. Co-worker. The list goes on and on! Something everyone on your list would love is something edible. I mean, who doesn’t like to eat, right? There are so many different gifts out there that are thoughtful and useful, yet easy to put together and remain inexpensive. Check out some of my favorite edible gift ideas here!
Hot chocolate kit – I gave some of these out as Thanksgiving hostess gifts, and they seemed to be a hit! And, they’re super easy to put together, but they look so cute once you’ve assembled them. For these, all you need is a cute mug (I love these emoji mugs or also love all of the Evelyn Henson ones!), hot chocolate packets and accessories (Anthropologie has the cutest mug toppers which would be perfect for this!), cellophane, and pretty ribbon. Just put everything in your mug, wrap it up, and tie it at the top and you have a sweet (literally!) and useful gift. These would be great for friends or co-workers alike.
Peep bouquet – if you know someone who loves all things sweet and has a thing for chocolate, this makes a perfect gift. And, if you’ve never tried chocolate covered peeps, here’s your chance! I’ve had these around Easter, but you can certainly make them with the Christmas themed peeps as well. All you have to do is follow this instructional to make the peeps (super easy!), then either place them in a decorative jar or tin like the instructional shows, which is really cute and would even make a great dessert table centerpiece, too, or you can wrap them in cellophane. These peeps are really addicting and they will be an appreciated (and not to mention a quickly gobbled up) gift!
Holiday bark – last week, I tested some holiday bark recipes and they came out really well! I think that some of this in a mason jar with a ribbon tied on top would make a great simple yet delicious gift for anyone on your list! For someone who wants something a little healthier, this recipe uses fruit and nuts, which sounds really good. This recipe is a more classic holiday bark with all candy, cookies, and sweet stuff. These barks are very quick and simple to make…you won’t believe how quickly it comes together!
These are all great ideas if you are looking to give something simple or just don’t want to give more store-bought items this holiday season! Plus, they are all fun to put together – and don’t forget to taste test where applicable 🙂
