I have a slight addiction when it comes to decorating for the holidays and for Christmas, I love to go over the top. I am already itching to put out our tree and ornaments, along with the rest of our decorations. For now, though, I am settling for lighting Christmas scented candles and enjoying my new flannel duvet cover, as my boyfriend has insisted that we wait until after Thanksgiving. Every year, I get so excited when stores start to put out their holiday collections and decorations (and it seems it’s getting earlier and earlier each year…not complaining, though!). So, I wanted to share with you some favorite ornaments and decorations. I am starting with a snowman theme because they’re my favorite.
Ornaments – let me start by saying I am already growing a pretty large collection of Christmas ornaments. I love looking through all of the ornaments at my parents house that we have collected over the years, each associated with their own memory. I am already excited to pull out my ornaments from last year and can’t wait to see how many more we will collect in the years to come. This year, I’ve bought a few – and my mom has bought me some! In Florida a couple weeks ago, we found these Snowpinion ones and they are too cute for words. I ordered this darling snow-couple from Joss and Main about a month ago and I love it. I also have some on my wish list for this year. First…I love this because it’s a tropical theme (this one, too!)! Lenox ornaments are always so classic, and this one is no exception. This one is simple and cute, and I love this set (and it’s on sale!). Clearly, there is no shortage of snowman ornaments this holiday season to choose from.
Accents – there are so many snowman accents out there take advantage of this holiday season. I love snowmen, too, because snowmen are typically not holiday specific, thus can be left out all winter long! I like this set because they light up, and I think the Analee snowmen are adorable. Accents don’t always have to be decorative pieces, either. They can be functional too! Like this blanket or a throw pillow. Or, make a statement with a wreath that you can leave up throughout the season. Snowmen everywhere…I love it!
Serveware – it’s always fun to get serveware to match the season, and there are tons of sets and pieces available in a snowman theme. I love this dish for cookies or appetizers. Every year. I buy cheap melamine plates like these to give cookies on when I go to someone’s house for a gathering or holiday. And how cute is this cheeseboard!? Simple yet perfect for winter. Finally, this mug is cute by itself or in a set – whichever you’d rather!
Clearly, I take holiday decor pretty seriously. Christmas is, after all, the most wonderful time of the year! That being said, there is no time to waste. Go buy some holiday decorations and prepare to trim your tree. I always find great holiday items at HomeGoods and Marshall’s (duh), but find their stuff gets picked over quickly, so shop as soon as you can.
