How to Keep Small Spaces Smelling Fresh

Especially living in an apartment building, it can be tough to keep weird smells out from your small space. Nothing bothers me more when the smell from last night’s dinner lingers or walking into the apartment after work and smelling something gross from the garbage. Yuck!

Luckily, there are ways to combat these problems and keep your space smelling fresh as can be. Here are a few of my favorite products that keep my space smelling great:

Wallflowers: This is one of my favorite products from Bath and Body Works. There are so many scent options and there are even fun plugs if you don’t want to just use the standard ones. I also love these because they last a long time and they are affordable. Finally, they are pretty much maintenance free. All you do is assemble it, plug it in, and then you don’t even have to think about it until it runs out. They truly keep your space smelling fresh without being overwhelming.

Candles and candle warmers: I have a slight candle obsession! I have about ten of them stashed in our linen closet so that we will never run out. I like to light them as I cook dinner and leave them burning afterwards so get rid of any lingering smells. I love the ones from Bath and Body Works and also Yankee Candle’s selection (Sun and Sand is my favorite scent!). As an alternative to candles, I also love Yankee Candle’s candle warmers. They are inexpensive and they work very well. Also, the tarts are super affordable and last a long time!

Scented garbage bags: this one might be a bit odd, but these genuinely keep your garbage from getting super stinky. I love the Febreeze and Gain Glad bags. This is an inexpensive and easy way to keep your space smelling wonderful.

Even though small spaces tend to trap bad smells inside of them…there are tons of easy and affordable ways to keep your home smelling fresh and clean no matter what.
